After you get your license

Once you have your PPL(A) or NPPL(A) it’s a great idea to get the Night Rating and the IMC Rating. These ratings will make you a safer, more accurate pilot and allow you to use your license and aircraft to their fullest potential.

You can continue to fly the aircraft used in your training as we operate a small, limited membership no-equity share which allows you to hire an LAC aircraft for your own use.

There is a rich group of LAC alumni based at Barton and other UK airfields, with thriving WhatsApp groups, aircraft shares, social gatherings and fly-outs.

When you complete your flight training we can connect you with volunteers who are happy to act as friendly, informal mentors as you take the first steps on your post-license flying journey.

If you’d like to contact the group, simply complete the form below.

Please note the information in this form is sent outside LAC to some nice volunteers who informally coordinate post-license activities. If you don’t have a license, or you’re under 17, or you’re not happy sending information in the form, please don’t complete it.
